Elevate your camp with our Amusement Park Challenge module! Campers use Lego Spike Essentials and the ThinkFun Roller Coaster Kit to invent their own rides and carnival games, master coding, and collaborate in teams—all culminating in a final Amazing Amusement Park session where their creations take center stage.
For this module you will need:
- 1 tablet (iPad, Android, Chromebook, etc) of your choice will be needed for each group of 2-3 participants
- Lego Spike Essentials (1 kit for each group of 2-3 participants) $329 per kit (so for a group of 12 you would need 4 kits) **The Lego Spike Essential app will need to be loaded onto each device
- Marble Roller Coaster Challenge Kit(1 Kit for each group of 2-3 participants)$39.99 (so for a group of 12 students you would need 4 kits)
- 10”x10” Lego compatible base (Optional) to used as a larger building base for campers’ invented rides-$16.99 (1 of these purchases has 10 bases included in the set- so you would only need 1 set to accommodate 12 participants)
When planning equipment purchases for this curriculum, base your estimates on an average group of 10–12 children. Within each group, children should be divided into teams of 2–3. Each team requires its own complete set of equipment. For example, if multiple groups are operating concurrently, ensure that every team within each group is provided with a dedicated equipment set. So for example: 10-12 children would require 4 sets of equipment.
